About Beading & Jewellery Making
I've always been into arts and crafts, and before I knew it I had a growing collection of beads - without much knowledge of what to do with them. At best, I had painted wooden picture frames and glued loads of pretty beads all over the frame - an easy project but an effective one.
In my late teens, I spent a year working in NZ. I was living with a friend who also collected beads - she made jewellery. I was in awe; I loved to sit and watch her work, often thinking, "I'd love to do that, but I'm not sure I'd be any good!"
Before long, I gave it a try. What an amazing hobby! Who needs to buy over-priced costume jewellery when you can design and make your own unique pieces?
Within a week of returning home to the UK from NZ, I'd gone shopping with my Mum and bought an abundance of supplies. I sat at her table and crafted - literally for hours:
I've been designing and crafting my jewellery on and off ever since, only now am I getting serious enough to blog about it and begin to market myself!
About Gleeta Designs
My husband-to-be and I decided we needed to come up with a company name. He's studying BSc Computing at university and we knew one day we'd need a business name. We combined my love of glitter and his name, Lee, to create Gleeta.
